Planning Your Event
Great fundraisers don’t happen by accident, they happen with a little planning. Here’s your roadmap:
- Pick your fundraiser. Choose the event type that fits your style and audience.
- Set your goal. Decide on a fundraising target, and lock in a date and location.
- Spread the word, in style. Create flyers, social posts, and emails to publicize your event — include a donation link and/or QR code so giving is quick and easy.
- Rally your circle. Tell friends, family, coworkers, teammates, classmates, and neighbors about your event and how it supports Connor’s Kindness Project.
- Share the “why.” Let supporters know about CKP’s mission so they understand exactly what their donation is helping to create.
- Keep giving simple and transparent. Whenever possible, direct donations straight through the CKP website. If you’re collecting funds yourself, keep clear records and send proceeds to CKP promptly. We can build a custom donation page for your event to make this seamless.
- Capture the moment. Snap photos at your event and share them with us — we love celebrating your impact (and might feature you too!).
- Make it easy to say yes. Be sure your promotional materials include a direct donation link and an easy way for people to reach CKP if they want to plan their own fundraiser.
Spreading the Word
The secret to a great fundraiser isn’t complicated: get people excited, and get the word out. A unique angle or a fun twist is often what turns a routine event into something people can’t stop talking about. And always be clear, every dollar raised benefits Connor’s Kindness Project and the children we serve.
Ways to spread the word:
- Go personal: Send a letter, postcard, or email with event details, and ask people to share it with their networks.
- Go digital: Create an event page on Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn, and encourage participants to post about it too.
- Go visual: Design eye-catching posters or flyers for libraries, churches, gyms, schools, and coffee shops.
- Go local: Send a press release to your local newspaper — local media loves a feel-good story.
