Kindness Kit

A Kindness Kit is a box of play and comfort for a child going through something hard. Each kit is filled with toys, games, and comfort items hand-picked by Connor, then delivered to children in hospitals, shelters, and community programs.

When a child receives a Kindness Kit, three lives are touched at once: the child who opens it, the caregiver or family standing beside them, and the nurse, teacher, or social worker who gets to deliver a moment of comfort.

What Is a Kindness Kit

A Kindness Kit is a thoughtfully designed box with high-quality, recognizable toys, activities, games, and comfort items that give children entertainment, engagement, and opportunities for play. The kits are meant to be entertaining, comforting, and fun for a child in a challenging situation.

Each kit includes a varying combination of the following:

  • Mini Lego set
  • Bombas
  • Etch A Sketch
  • Rubik’s Cube
  • Play-Doh
  • Kinetic Sand
  • Crayons
  • Coloring Book
  • Stickers
  • MadLibs
  • Pop It
  • Card Game
  • Left Center Right Dice Game
  • Puzzle
Kit contents are intentionally selected and continue to evolve based on feedback from the professionals, caregivers, and children we serve.

Why Kindness Kits Matter

Research in pediatric healthcare shows that play can help reduce distress and restore a sense of normalcy. CKP’s Kindness Kits are filled with recognizable toys, games, activities, and comfort items chosen to help a child cope during difficult experiences, including illness, crisis, homelessness, foster care, grief, and other hardships.

The Triple Impact

ONE Kindness Kit supports THREE people:

  • The child: comfort, engagement, and support. A Kindness Kit fills a child’s hands with comfort during illness, crisis, homelessness, or hardship.
  • The caregiver: reassurance from seeing their child calmer and cared for. The kit gives a caregiver or family a rare moment of relief, knowing their child has a little joy in the middle of a crisis.
  • The professional: a tool to connect, build trust, and support coping. The kit equips a nurse, teacher, or social worker with a tangible way to connect with the child in their care.
